Zamboanga City: La Vista del Mar

Beaches are very common in Zamboanga city and La vista is one of the closest to the city proper. Roughly only around 5 to 6km away from the city hall.
The resort also has a restaurant which I think can accomodate around 30 to 50 heads.

Aside from having usual cottages for beach goers to stay, they also have private cottages!

Come and visit the place if you're around Zamboanga city for a vacation!

Here's a short clip spending quality time with my family.

Doraemon: My Doraemon Collection

So who's Doraemon?

Doraemon is a Japanese fictional character. A robotic cat from the future, born(manufactured) on September 3, 2112.

Did you know?
Originally, Doraemon doesn't look like how we usually know of his color. His original color was yellow and he had ears. It was said that a mouse robot bit Doraemon's ears then he cried out loud and his tears seem to have washed off his yellow color and he then turned blue! Cool, huh?
Doraemon was actually said to be a defective toy. He(I address him as a he, and not it) was then sold to a poor family. This family was actually Nobita's descendants. The family is struggling so much financially, that's why Sewashi, Nobita's great, great, great grandson, thought of bringing Doraemon back into the past to help Nobita with his life. (Nobita is struggling with his studies, failing in almost everything and too lazy to do things which affected the Sewashi's life). Anyway, so much about that.

Here's my Doraemon collection! (I don't have the yellow one!!) :(
Doraemon stuffs are very rare here in our place. I bought some of them, and some were given to me by my friends and my students, too. Knowing that I love Doraemon, whenever they see one, they either buy it for me(If the price is right, LOL) or they inform me about it. It's quite funny though, that my friends remember me now whenever they see Doraemon stuffs around because of my posts on facebook. haha.

Here's a picture of what I got from my friends on my birthday. Yes, these, as gifts for a 29-year old person.*poker face*

August of 2014, a computer animated movie of Doraemon came out on theaters. "Standby Me Doraemon".

When I first heard of it, I was like "I don't think this would be a nice movie since it's computer animated". So it took me  a year and a few months before I get to watch it. Believe it or not, it brought me tears.

So this is me, the Doraemon guy. Not much of a Doraemon addict, but I love collecting Doraemon stuffs.

How about you? Who is/are your favorite fictional character/s?

Zamboanga's Satti: What is Satti?

Non-Zamboanga residents, you might ask, what is Satti?
Satti is a muslim delicacy. Said to be famous in Malaysia and southern Mindanao, Philippines.

Satti is very famous in Zamboanga city. Most ZamboangueƱos who leave Zamboanga to work abroad tend to seek of this food. They miss this food while they're out there earning money. How do I know? I have friends who went abroad and even brothers who are currently working in Luzon area. They crave of this food so much especially when I post this food on my social networking sites. So, what about it? What is satti?
Satti is a spicy food, well basically, only the sauce. (The sauce itself is called the Satti)
It is usually served with "puso/tamuh" which is actually the rice. "Puso/Tamuh" is usually cooked wrapped with coconut leaves in a diamond 3-dimensional figure.
(I don't own the picture below: photo credits to the owner)
It is originally served only with beefsticks with rice. Then later on served with chicken liver, gizzard, and chicken meat.

The sauce is basically "unlimited" because you can just request for a refill as much as you want. Provided, you still have some meat on your plate.

I love eating Satti especially on a Saturday morning with friends. If not, I just "balot/take out/to go" on a Sunday morning after attending mass with my mom.

Satti is usually ideal for breakfast, though, some satti house are open until supplies last. Some eat satti after a gym workout and a morning jog.

Personal favorite: Chicken liver and chicken breast.
Most number of refill: 4.

Have you tried satti? What's your favorite combination of meat? Have not tasted satti yet? Hit me up when you're around Zamboanga city for a short vacation.

Cubing: The Rubik's Cube

I just recently started cubing last November 13, 2016. It was one Sunday afternoon, where I deactivated my facebook account and felt so boring that day and saw my student's rubik's cube(which I confiscated, hehehe) then I decided to learn how to solve it. Viewed some online tutorials on youtube and found one that is very helpful by TheSergsB(How to solve a 3x3x3 step by step tutorial). It took me roughly about 3 to 4 hours to be familiar with the methods from making the cross, to putting up the corners, then the second layer and finally finishing up the cube with the beginner's method. I fell in love with cubing and started to learn more types of cube: from 2x2x2, to 4x4x4 to 5x5x5. Then tried to do the Megaminx, too!! But I only focused with the 3x3x3. Was able to finish solving it in 5 minutes for my first official attempt after being familiar with the beginner's method. Then going further, as I mastered the beginner's method, my time gradually cut down to 3 minutes, 2 minutes, then finally under a minute in roughly a week or 2. Then I tried learning the advanced method, CFOP, one of the few and the most used method.

(C)ross, (F)irst2layers, (O)rienting of last layer, (P)ermutation of last layer. I'm not good in memorizing stuffs, so I only memorized a few of the OLL's and PLL's. I'm currently on my 5th month of cubing as of April 11, 2017. Enjoying it as a hobby, aiming up to speed up a little more but not much to aim for a National Record(currently at 6.36 seconds for the Philippines by Jay Benedict Alfaras), or even a World Record(currently at 4.73 seconds by Feliks Zemdegs). I'd love to make a tutorial on how to solve the rubik's cube, or at least to understand the CFOP method.

Are you a cuber, too? What's your PB and Ao5 for 3x3x3?

As of April 11, 2017.
PB: 17.71 seconds
Ao5: 22.34 seconds
Main cube: Moyu Weilong GTS
