Zamboanga's Satti: What is Satti?

Non-Zamboanga residents, you might ask, what is Satti?
Satti is a muslim delicacy. Said to be famous in Malaysia and southern Mindanao, Philippines.

Satti is very famous in Zamboanga city. Most ZamboangueƱos who leave Zamboanga to work abroad tend to seek of this food. They miss this food while they're out there earning money. How do I know? I have friends who went abroad and even brothers who are currently working in Luzon area. They crave of this food so much especially when I post this food on my social networking sites. So, what about it? What is satti?
Satti is a spicy food, well basically, only the sauce. (The sauce itself is called the Satti)
It is usually served with "puso/tamuh" which is actually the rice. "Puso/Tamuh" is usually cooked wrapped with coconut leaves in a diamond 3-dimensional figure.

It is originally served only with beefsticks with rice. Then later on served with chicken liver, gizzard, and chicken meat.

The sauce is basically "unlimited" because you can just request for a refill as much as you want. Provided, you still have some meat on your plate.

I love eating Satti especially on a Saturday morning with friends. If not, I just "balot/take out/to go" on a Sunday morning after attending mass with my mom.

Satti is usually ideal for breakfast, though, some satti house are open until supplies last. Some eat satti after a gym workout and a morning jog.

Personal favorite: Chicken liver and chicken breast.
Most number of refill: 4.

Have you tried satti? What's your favorite combination of meat? Have not tasted satti yet? Hit me up when you're around Zamboanga city for a short vacation.
